Gul Mohammad Aryan
(Director)

Gul Mohammad Aryan is a dedicated humanitarian focused on promoting women empowerment and enhancing educational opportunities in Afghanistan. He holds an MBA and a BBA from Pune University, along with diplomas in Financial Accounting and Computer Applications. Currently, he serves as the Country Director at the Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan (SGOA) since February 2023, leading initiatives for social and economic sustainability. His previous experience includes roles as WASH Project Manager through the support of Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, Kandahar Provincial Economy Director at the Ministry of Economy & World Bank, Education Quality Improvement Program Officer at the World Bank, Head of Operations in Mercy Corps and PMU Grants procurement Officer with USAID IRD SIKA South. Additionally, he completed a fellowship program on Capacity Enhancement of Economic Planning in Afghanistan, organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Korea Institute for Development Strategy in June 2019 and Successfully completed the 2018 Seminar on Economic Development Policy for Afghanistan sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission of the People Republic of China from August 16th, 2018 to September 04th, 2018 in Beijing. Through his work, Gul Mohammad Aryan continues to strive for positive change in Afghanistan.

NOORUL SABA AZAMI
(DEPUTY DIRECTOR)

Noorul Saba Azami is a dedicated healthcare professional and the Deputy Country Director at the Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan since October 2020 With expertise in healthcare management and project implementation, she develops initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Her previous roles Midwife Supervisor at Kandahar Mairwise Government Hospital. Fluent in multiple languages, Noorul excels in stakeholder engagement and community empowerment. She holds a Midwifery degree and a diploma in English and Computer skills from Afghanistan. She effectively advocates for her community’s needs, making her a vital asset to the organization’s mission in Afghanistan.

HUDA BARAKZAI
(BOARD DIRECTOR)

Huda is a dedicated education professional and the Board Director at the Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan, a role she has held since October 2020. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kandahar University and a midwifery qualification from the Ministry of Public Health Institute. Her experience includes serving as a Midwife Supervisor at Kandahar and working with organizations like BARAN and Jack. As a Board Director, Huda is instrumental in developing initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and community empowerment. Fluent in multiple languages, she effectively advocates for her community’s needs, making her a vital asset to the organization’s mission in Afghanistan.

Masters of Governance and Public Policy in Public Health from the University of Queensland and MD from Kabul University, evaluated as a US-equivalent medical degree. Holds an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University. Served 14 years as a Government Official in Afghanistan, specializing in public health, policy development, and economic growth. Possesses 7 years of expertise in program leadership, strategic management, and capacity development.

EMRAN STANIKZAI
(Board Member)

skilled professional with an MBA from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, and a BBA from Pune University, India. has worked as a Grants Manager for USAID, he leverages his expertise to drive impactful projects. Previously, he held the role of Program Officer at the World Bank, focusing on international development initiatives. His experience extends to working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, where he contributed to strategic policy development.

WAHID POPAL
(Board Member)

Chartered Accountant and ACCA Member based in Glasgow with an MBA in Accounting and Financial Business Management from the Allana Institute of Management Science in Pune. He also holds diplomas in QuickBooks, Tally, and Advanced Information Technology, along with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Management from Abeda Indar Senior College, Pune. He serves as a Financial Planning and Reporting Manager for USAID-funded projects and MOBY GROUP has worked as a Finance Consultant with companies like Afghan Cement and Afghan Coal LLC.

SAHIL RAHIMI
(Board Member)

MBA in Economic Policy from CAU, Kyrgyzstan, a BBA from Kardan University, Kabul. He has worked as a Senior Specialist for Aid Coordination for the European Union and UK at the Ministry of Finance, and as an Economic Policy Maker for the Ministry of Economy. he served as Head of Program Coordination at the Directorate of Administration and worked as a Transparency and Accountability Consultant for the Ministry of Economy.

Hamid Agha Hakimi is an experienced program and project management professional specializing in education, humanitarian aid, and socio-economic development with over 15 years of extensive experience. With expertise in planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and monitoring, he has successfully managed large-scale projects for organizations like UNDP, UN Women, SFCG, and Save the Children International. Holding a Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, and Logistics Management, he also has extensive experience in financial management, compliance, logistics coordination, policy-making, and organizational structure and governance. Fluent in multiple languages, including English, Pashto, Dari, and Urdu, Hamid excels in cross-cultural communication and stakeholder engagement. His career reflects a strong commitment to achieving sustainable development goals and empowering vulnerable communities. His skills include proposal writer, grants management, project and program management, financial management and budgeting, procurement and logistics management, monitoring and evaluation, communication and reporting, policy-making, organizational structure and governance expertise, as well as leadership and team management.
